A new year is off to a productive start! This month has kept us busy with some renovations to The Inlet Cottage, our beloved small cottage that houses 5 of our guestrooms. It sits in the middle of our property, and has 3 guestrooms on the first floor, and 2 guestrooms on the second floor. There is also a covered porch on the western side, and our backyard sitting area is on the eastern side, facing directly over the coast. The exterior has certainly taken a beating over the last 35-odd years since the last extensive renovations happened. Over the last few years, more and more shingles have started flying off during extreme winds, as well as a new leak was discovered in the roof this summer. So, it was decided to go ahead and re-shingle two of the sides of the building, replace half of the roof, and, at the same time, also replace 7 of the windows on the eastern and southern side of the building. Inclement weather and juggling construction schedules got us off to a late start in the fall, but we are happy to report that most of the exterior work is now completed!
